CMN 2005: I didn't make this recipe, but it did inspire me
to something very similar: I created a "crust" on the
bottom with crushed chocolate graham crackers. Next, I
added a layer of chocolate pudding. I topped that with
some Door County cherries, with the juice slightly
thickened (cooked with cornstarch). The final layer was
whipped cream, sprinkled with a bit more crushed chocolate
graham crackers.
Ingredients:
2 cups cold milk
3 7/8 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
21 ounces cherry pie filling -- divided
2 cups whipped topping -- divided
6 maraschino cherries -- with stems, optional
Directions:
In a bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Let stand for 2
minutes or until soft-set. Stir in 1 cup pie filling; gently fold in 1
cup whipped topping. Spoon half of the pudding mixture into six tall
glasses or cups. Top with remaining pie filling, pudding mixture and
whipped topping. Garnish with cherries if desired.
