Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cup sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground ginger
sugar for rolling

Directions:
Cream butter; add sugar gradually. Blend in molasses, egg, and sifteddry ingredients; chill.

Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in granulated sugar; place 2 inches aparton greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375°;cookies become crisp when cool.

Makes about 6 dozen.
