Do NOT use sugar-free Jell-O
Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 oz pkg of Jell-O gelatin 2 1/2 cups flour
Directions:
Mix shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Then add the baking powder, salt, Jell-O and flour.
Roll into balls. Butter and sugar the bottom of a glass and use it to flatten the balls (or use a cookie press).
Bake on ungreased sheet 325° for 6-8 min.
Use red and green Jell-O for Christmas; use sherbet colors to serve with sherbet in the summer.
Makes 3 dozen.
